Holly Wheatcroft

The Art Room opened in June 2015 and Holly has never looked back! The dream of a community space for families to hang out and make art together has grown to encompass workshops; portfolio reviews; art day camps throughout the year; corporate events; and community outreach programs in schools and TPL.

As a professional artist, arts educator, and university art history instructor, Holly Wheatcroft has over twenty years of experience in the classroom and studio. Dedicated to enriching communities through an appreciation of the arts, Holly is proud to have been recognized by OCAD University with an excellence in teaching award. Other experience includes member of the Toronto Public Art Commission at Toronto City Hall; museum and arts educator at PAMA (Brampton); arts educator at Visual Arts Mississauga; and College Instructor in Liberal Arts and Sciences in Montreal.

Amy Rogers

Amy is an artist and designer extraordinaire of embroidery, photography, paper manipulation, collage, drawing, and ceramics. Amy studied fibre arts at the Kansas City Art Institute and multimedia at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, after which she worked for both the MoMA Research Library and the Craft Department of Martha Stewart Living Magazine in New York City. “My favorite job (so far) is being a mom: chopping vegetables, decorating cakes, making Halloween costumes, and building forts are all creative processes that allow for a kid-friendly, art-friendly life. I love helping kids of all ages express themselves freely with all sorts of artistic efforts.”

Julia Lamont

Julia began her friendship with Holly a long time ago as a student when The Art Room first opened its doors! Julia volunteered for several summers, and we are so fortunate to welcome her back again this year to team teach alongside Holly and Amy. Julia lives in the neighbourhood and is currently studying at Dalhousie University. She has a passion for art and helping the campers artistically express themselves at any age.

Stella Parker

Stella is a first year University student at McGill in Montreal. We are delighted to welcome her back for her second year of summer camp at The Art Room! Her dream job is to be a librarian. She loves colours, and helping kids feel great about themselves and the art they create.
