August 18-22 WEEK EIGHT Myths, Magic and Mystery 8:30 am - 4 pm

CA$430.00

The symbolic magic of cave paintings, mythical animals, Greek myths, a bit of Harry Potter, and so much more! This week will focus on story telling through drawing and painting, multimedia sculptures, printmaking and clay.

The Art Room is excited to announce we will be hosting summer camps at 32 Sousa Mendes Street in the Junction this summer (just around the corner and across the bridge from our old Dundas Street location). The space measures 750 square feet with large windows on both ends of the studio, has air conditioning, two bathrooms, and most importantly, is located on a very safe street in a residential neighbourhood. We will walk to Perth Square Park for outdoor play after lunch, just two blocks away with no busy streets to cross.

There will be two groups in the studio, loosely divided by age. This will happen organically and according to camper / parent requests, as well as how the groups are working together. Helping our campers feel comfortable, challenged and relaxed will be more important than strict age divisions. Please make a note in your registration if your child would like to be with a sibling or a friend. All campers will be making the same projects.

Campers will be requested to leave with no refund if they are younger than 5 years old. Your child must be able to use the washroom themselves. Staff are never alone with a camper and therefore do not help change clothes or apply sunscreen. For younger campers, please pack an extra set of clothing in case of an accident. We kindly ask for drop off at the door. However, should your child have difficulty with transition and/or new environments, parents are welcome to stay in the studio with their child for a brief amount of time. If drop off with your child becomes disruptive, you will be asked to wait outside and try again. Please leave strollers, bikes and scooters outside.

The Art Room is nut free. Please bring two nut-free snacks and lunch, appropriate outdoor gear, hat, sunscreen, and a water bottle. Campers will need to apply their own sunscreen once outdoors. A typical day at The Art Room for ages 5-13 is as follows: 8:30-9 am drop off, art project, snack, art project, lunch and outside play, art project, snack and finishing up / cleaning up. A total of three completed art projects per day is usual. PLEASE NOTE: Registration is final as of May 15, with no refunds unless the spot can be filled via the waitlist. Refunds will be given up until May 15 minus a 15% administration fee.

Please respect The Art Room’s screen free zone policy. If a child and parent/ guardian need to communicate with one another, Holly’s phone at 416-906-2704 is always available.
